Floppa Odyssey's second placeholder level is now Breezy Bridges: grassy mesas high above a deep canyon, rope bridges in the wind, a giant windmill you ride to the top, kites, updrafts and the Gale Gull. Tumble Blocks gets trees, flowers, flags and nicer houses.

New level: Breezy Bridges. Grassy mesas tower over a canyon with lakes far below, tied together by rope bridges.

The wind turns every few seconds and pushes you across the bridges. Windsocks show which way it blows.

Ride the platforms on the windmill's sails up to its lookout.

Grab a kite to glide, and ride updrafts high into the air. Glide out to a lonely rock pillar in the canyon.

Swinging bridges hang from cables and sway in the wind, with gust faces trying to blow you off.

Sky Steps: a shortcut from the windmill up to Storm Top. Jump into the updrafts and steer from floating rock to rock. Ground fans by the windmill blow you up to hay platforms, and the bridge to Kite Cliffs has holes to jump.

Pop Professor Puff's five weather balloons, and race Pip's paper plane through a ring course.

Boss: the Gale Gull on Storm Top. And a rusty weather vane hides a secret...

Tumble Blocks: toy trees, flowers, flag strings, alphabet blocks, houses with windows and chimneys, and a train with wheels. The track supports no longer poke through Block Town.

M does the same on a keyboard.

B now closes every menu, including yes/no questions. The D-pad also moves left and right through menus.

Signs, tips and messages show the buttons of what you are playing with: "Swim with A, dive with LB" on a controller, Space and Shift on a keyboard.

New "Hide button hints" button in the pause menu, so controller players can hide the hints too (F1 still works on a keyboard).

The Look tab previews an item as soon as you move onto it with the controller.

Cutscenes only advance with A, so mashing the cap button no longer skips lines.

Grass is drawn in smaller areas, and only the ones near you and in view are drawn, in the palace grounds and in Bramble Hill Fort.

The palace grounds' ground effect is lighter, faraway villagers and coins rest, and the Palace Peak route is worked out once per session, so the hub loads faster.

Floppa Odyssey gets Dash, a rival who races with your exact moves, a new palace cutscene, a rebuilt Palace Peak, a secret room under the village well and smoother movement. Plus a settings button, hats that show from every side and lots of fixes.

New rival: Dash, a sporty racer in Bramble Hill Fort. He moves exactly like you, long jumps included, so you'll need a near-perfect run to beat him. He asks before racing, and when you win he congratulates you and hands over his shrimp.

New cutscene: the first time you step inside the palace, Bingus shows you his sealed doors and the paintings he hid the shrimp in.

Palace Peak rebuilt: a real jump'n'run of stones that starts on land by the sign and winds up the mountain, with the flag on the summit.

A secret under the village well: jump in to find a hidden room with a new Golden Shrimp.

Hat Toss now works with plain throws (no motion controls needed), Clipper steps aside with a short cutscene, and the music stops during the game.

Movement: your cap flies farther when thrown in a jump, rolling off an edge keeps you rolling, rolling into your cap bounces you into a cap jump, and sliding down a wall has its own pose, dust and sound. Hanging on a moving platform's ledge now carries you along.

Bramble Hill Fort: a dirt path leads round the second terrace to its red coin, the floating isle is bigger with a little garden, the grass is greener, and the Big Bonker stays beaten once you have his shrimp.

Menus: a Settings button on the Odyssey title and pause menus, and M opens the map on PC. The pause map now shows the whole island.

Hats and headbands no longer disappear when seen from behind, in every mode.

New console command: welcome opens the first-start welcome window again.

Floppa Odyssey now has a story with cutscenes, a new challenge level in the sky, motion controls and a better roll. The home screen lets you put the game modes in your own order.

Story: Bingus crashes the Golden Shrimp Festival, takes Princess Sogga to the top of the palace and seals every door with his magic. Golden Shrimp break his seals, so collect them and climb to the top.

New story cutscenes with a skip button: the festival, after Sir Bonkus, a message from Sogga, and when the tower opens.

The palace has festival lanterns and flags. One lantern lights up for every three shrimp you find.

New level: Puffcap Skyway. Simple colourful blocks in a misty sky with clear edges, cap clouds that turn solid when you hit them with your cap, a tower, an arena and new sky enemies.

Falling off in a level now counts as a loss and starts the level over. You no longer get sent back to the palace.

Motion controls: shake your controller to throw the cap, spin, boost your roll or swim faster. A shaken cap flies to nearby coins and enemies, and shaking again keeps it spinning longer.

Ground pound, then press attack or shake right after landing to roll away at full speed. Shaking during a roll makes it a bit faster than with the button.

Footsteps now sound different on grass, stone, wood, sand, snow, water, metal and mud.

Frosty Peaks now has 16 shrimp. The crab gang gets stunned first and defeated on the second hit.

Characters are now the same size as you, and the cap hits things more reliably.

New Odyssey menu button in the pause menu takes you back to the Floppa Odyssey title screen.

Home screen: the main mode is now simply called Floppaland and sits in the game mode list. Reorder the modes by holding both mouse buttons and dragging, or with LB / RB on a controller.

Floppa Odyssey gets a real butt slide, the Secret Palace Slide is rebuilt as one long race down with a new rival, and your hero is now bigger so the worlds feel right. Plus lots of fixes to the new hills and the cap.

New move: sit down and slide on steep or slippery slopes. Steer left and right, jump out with all your speed, or dive for a faster belly slide.

The Secret Palace Slide is now one long, curvy chute under the stars, with jumps, a hidden shortcut, a fork, bumpers and a tunnel.

Meet Skidsy, a slide bird who races you down the slide. Beat him for a shrimp, and finish under 27 seconds for another.

Your hero is now about 2.6 m tall instead of 1.8 m, so the levels feel the right size. Running and jumping reach just as far as before.

Your red cap is now on your head and gets thrown from there, then flies back onto it.

Smoother roll: you tumble cleanly and stand back up without tilting.

The new hills look like one smooth ground now, without square patches.

Trees, bushes and fences no longer stick through people, enemies or paths.

The floating island in Bramble Hill Fort has a proper rocky underside.

Every mode can now be played with only a controller. Floppa Odyssey got its own title screen, a map, shrimp lists, speedrun mode, sounds, rolling hills and three levels twice as big. FloppaParty's menus, board and minigames were rebuilt from the ground up.

Controller support everywhere: the home screen, FloppaKart, Floppa Odyssey, FloppaParty, Floppatopia and the character customizer. D-pad or stick moves, A selects, B goes back, and the selected button always has a bright outline.

Button hints now switch between keyboard and controller depending on what you used last.

FloppaKart: driving with a controller was broken (the triggers were read wrong) and is fixed. There's a new FloppaKart Controller section in Settings to rebind every kart action, triggers included.

FloppaKart: Start now opens the race menu, items can be thrown or dropped backwards with Brake or the stick pulled down, and look back also works on the right stick.

Floppa Odyssey has its own title screen with Continue, New game, Speedrun mode and Controls.

New Floppa Odyssey pause menu with tabs: a map of the area with every shrimp marked, a shrimp list with a checklist and hints for every level, and the controls.

Speedrun mode: a timer with splits for every new shrimp, your personal best, gold segments, and Any% or All shrimp runs. It never touches your normal save.

Floppa Odyssey now has movement sounds: footsteps, jumps, flips, ground pounds, landings, swimming and more.

Bramble Hill Fort, Sunshell Bay and Croaker Swamp are about twice as big, with 16 shrimp each instead of 8. Your collected shrimp stay collected.

Rolling hills, dunes and mud mounds instead of flat ground in those levels and around the palace.

When a challenge shrimp appears, the camera now shows it, and the helper who asked for it cheers and thanks you.

Fixed: running up stairs in Floppa Odyssey no longer makes you super fast. Capture hints now name the right creature.

FloppaParty got a fresh look: new setup menu with your real character looks and presets, an optional Player 2, a new board screen and nicer themed boards.

FloppaParty minigames: cleaner screens, real scenery instead of an empty void, stronger and more reliable bumps, ice and sky arenas in Bumper Floppas, falling tiles over lava, and Floppa Dash rebuilt as a real race track.

Players and characters are now the same size in FloppaParty.

Several crash fixes in Floppatopia, Floppa Odyssey and the menus.

A big behind-the-scenes update: races and menus run lighter, you can set your own frame rate limits, FloppaKart got several fixes, and the whole project was cleaned up so it starts and runs more reliably.

Set your own frame rate: Max FPS is now a number you type in (up to 1000), and there's a new Max FPS in menus setting for the main menu, pause screens and kart menus (120 by default). Both are saved.

FloppaKart races now really use your Max FPS. Before, races were stuck at the menu limit.

Faster races: the CPU racers and the live race positions take noticeably less work every frame, so races run lighter, especially with a full grid.

The main menu refreshes its buttons much more efficiently in the background.

No more "Checkpoint 1 missed - go back!" right at the start of a race. The warning now only appears when you really skipped a checkpoint.

Calmer race positions: your place number no longer flickers back and forth while you're side by side with someone, and the place sound no longer plays over and over.

The settings scrollbar now sits at the right edge and is thicker, so it's easier to grab.

Big clean-up: almost 200 small code warnings fixed, unused old files removed, and the console commands for frame rate are now fps and fpsui.

V0.998 #2: road maps and "Which way?"

Floppatopia's roads are now real path maps: they split, join again and branch three ways, and you pick where to go. A map in the corner shows where you are, the ways you've walked stay bright, and the world map shows which roads still hide paths you haven't seen.

Roads come in many shapes now: straight ones, roads that split in two and meet again, double splits, three-way spreads (some split again on every way) and Easy or Tough routes.

"Which way?": at a split the whole road map opens big. Every way has its own colour, arrow and name. Ways you've walked before tell you what's on them (a chest, a campfire, a shop), new ways stay a mystery.

A road map in the corner while you walk: your leader's marker slides along it, walked paths shine and the rest stay faded. Press M to make it big.

The Tough route has stronger monsters and better loot. A side exit is a dotted, overgrown trail that leads to a secret place.

Every road keeps the same map, and remembers the ways you've walked, so you can come back for the paths you missed.

On the world map, new roads glow pink. A road you've cleared but haven't fully explored turns grey, and once every way is walked it gets its golden flag. The info bar shows how many ways you've explored.

The road preview with the full map now only shows for roads you've cleared before, so new roads stay a surprise.

The old bar of stops at the top of the screen is gone; only the road's name stays.

Floppatopia's healing shakers grow into a full system: every monster you beat sends a stolen face home, new Shield and Hyper shakers, tools that unlock when you first need them, and a Safe Spot that gets stronger. Heroes now show how they feel, battles have sounds, and story scenes have little voices.

Faces saved: every monster you beat sends a stolen face home, bosses send many. Your shakers and the Safe Spot grow as more faces come home, and the win screen, the inn and the map show how many you've saved and when the next upgrade comes.

Tools unlock when you first need them: the HP Shaker the first time someone gets hurt, the MP Shaker when MP runs low, the Life Shaker at the first knockout, the Safe Spot at the first nasty status and the new Shield Shaker the first time a monster charges up. A short tip explains each one.

New Shield Shaker: a shake wraps a hero in a glowing bubble that blocks the next hit completely, then breaks.

New Hyper Shaker: a special gift for one boss fight. A shaken hero deals triple damage but can only use normal attacks.

Pouring feels better: hold longer for stronger sprinkles, and keep holding while you slide to the next hero. Switch between all your shakers with Q or Tab.

The Life Shaker now brings a friend back with full HP, and the Safe Spot shakes off bad statuses and heals more as you save faces (and a little more once the steed has joined).

Faces that react: heroes squeeze their eyes shut when hit, get star eyes on a big hit or a win, look scared on low HP, sad when a friend goes down, sleepy, dizzy or starstruck from statuses, and blink now and then. At breakfast they get heart eyes for a favourite dish and teary eyes for one they don't like, and quarrels at the inn come with angry faces.

Battle animations: every class has its own attack, skills show their name, every element looks different, bosses jump and slam down, enemies bump, spin, pounce or spit, and the camera follows the action. Status effects now stay visible over a hero's head while they last.

Battle sounds: hits, critical hits, misses, healing, boosts, knockouts, shields breaking and the boss slam all have their own sound.

Story scenes type out with little voices, and every character has their own pitch.

Smaller things: the settings switches are easier to see and read, and pets and teammates you don't control show their name when it's their turn.

Floppa Odyssey lets you explore levels freely, and Floppa Falls in Floppakart got fixed.

Meet Biscuit the Puffback: a big fluffy steed joins in World 3. Finish them all for a golden saddle.

The Scrapbook: every monster you've beaten (poke them and pose with them), every dish, all the gear and the music.

Personalities really show now: every personality has its own good and silly battle quirks, with a big callout when one happens, and its own way of asking for things, quarreling and enjoying outings.

Level-up celebrations after a win, healing shakers that sprinkle over a hero, chunkier status cards and a swoosh into every battle.

A calmer breakfast: big food pictures, a taste badge on every hero, and a fun reaction when they eat.

A pause menu (Esc no longer leaves the road), the road bar shows split paths, hold Shift to hurry, and Continue shows your save and takes you right back.

Floppa Odyssey: all shrimp in a level are out at once, tree crowns turn see-through when they block the view, snappier movement, and holding the cap button keeps the cap spinning.

Floppakart: Floppa Falls has smoother hills, logs you can jump off, checkpoints you can't miss by accident, buoy lines on the open water, and ramp arrows now point the right way on every track.

Friends from the bench step in, and you have to beat the ghost ship to win them back.

Bosses are a real fight now: they grow tougher from world to world, and each one was tuned with the teams of full playthroughs. The Mountain Tower's tortoise got much tougher too.

Friends on the bench now get the same gear from the smith and learn class skills in battles, so swapping them in never makes the team weaker.

Floppa Odyssey looks better too: soft clouds and a starry night sky, glowing coins and shrimp, warmer sand, swaying grass, snowy pine trees, fireflies in the swamp and wisps in the graveyard.

Floppatopia: cast your story, a bigger team and the Mountain Tower

Choose who plays every role in the story, Baron Blank included, and the rescued villagers join your team. There is a bench, a Class Hall, an animal friend, gear you can see, games and jealousy at the inn, bosses that get serious, and a post-game tower.

Story cast: every role in the story (the Curator, the Fisher, the Warrior, the Trader, the Tinkerer, Ace, Zig and Baron Blank himself) can be an island villager or a character you make in the character designer, with their own name. Cast everyone at the start, decide each role the first time it shows up, or change the cast any time from the world map.

The cast is everywhere: the Baron steals your cast's faces, so the monsters and bosses wear them, the cast appears in story scenes, towns and on the road, and the story uses their names.

A bigger team: every villager you rescue from a boss joins you, up to eleven heroes. Four fight and the rest wait on the bench, still learning from every battle. Swap them in from Party on the map; Floppa always stays.

The Class Hall: from the second world on, a hero can change class in town. They keep their level, and every class remembers its own rank and skills.

An animal friend: in the second world a seal, an otter or a pelican joins as a fifth fighter that stands in front of the team.

Gear you can see: every hero holds their class's weapon in battle, made of wood, stone, bronze, iron, gold or blackstone to match their gear.

The inn's Game Corner: a game ticket every night (and sometimes in a treasure chest) for the prize wheel (coins, snacks, food, XP, friendship, an outing or the jackpot) or rock-paper-scissors against the innkeeper.

Jealousy: a hero whose best friend got much closer to someone else may sulk and start a quarrel. Sharing a room usually fixes it.

Bosses get serious: below half HP every boss powers up with a banner and a red glow, and hits harder for the rest of the fight.

After the story: the Mountain Tower, a post-game island with the toughest monsters, Summit Camp, the Eagle's Nest and a giant tortoise with the old tower on its back.

Every Floppatopia world has its own map now, battles have new monsters and much more punch, and Floppa Odyssey has two new levels, two new creatures to take over and a palace you walk right into.

Floppatopia: every world now has its own map. From the second world on, the road splits so you pick one of two paths, and a landmark stands at the back of each map: a shipwreck, a crystal mine, a pyramid, a crypt, a volcano, an ice castle and a museum full of giant frames.

Floppatopia: monsters have their own bodies now (frogs, bushes, beetles, crabs, jellyfish, lanterns, moles, imps, wolves, bats, owls and more) instead of looking like coloured slimes.

Floppatopia: 13 new monsters with one trick each. Some hide in a shell (magic still gets through), wind up a big attack (time to Guard), dig underground, call a friend, snatch your coins and run, split in two or burst when beaten.

Floppatopia battles feel better: heroes wind up and leap in, spells fly across, hits flash and knock monsters back, critical hits get a big orange number and shake the camera, and a beaten monster's stolen face flies home. Monsters that join in the middle of a fight now show up too.

Floppatopia: more than twice as many inn scenes, plus six new night events: a midnight snack raid, snoring, a nightmare, practising a move, stargazing and a pillow fight.

Floppatopia balance: XP now depends on the level gap, so clearing every stop no longer leaves the team far above the boss, and a friend who joins late catches up faster. Bosses are a little tougher, and coins go further: fewer of them, with pricier gear upgrades at the smith.

Floppa Odyssey: two new full levels, Hollow Manor behind the 20 door and Frosty Peaks on the upper floor, each with six goals, eight red coins and 100 coins. There are 88 Golden Shrimp now.

Floppa Odyssey: two new creatures to take over with your cap: a puffbat that glides across wide gaps and a heavy rumblerock that smashes cracked ice and walks along the bottom of lakes.

Floppa Odyssey: you now walk in through the palace's front doors, the lobby has more to look at, and Hazel the Hint Keeper tells you your next door and where to find a shrimp.

Floppa Odyssey: the camera no longer gets stuck behind walls, wall kicks are more reliable and stairs can be walked up.

Both modes: much lighter scenes, the game's Performance mode now also lightens both modes, and the island HUD stays off in both modes on its own.

Both new modes are now real games you can play from the Options menu: a team RPG with a world map, the inn, towns and battles, and a 3D platformer with a palace full of painting worlds.

Floppatopia: a world map for each of the eight worlds. Pick a stop and your team walks there: levels, a town, a secret level behind a side exit, and the boss.

Floppatopia: every level ends at the inn. Choose who shares a room, watch the night play out, feed the team the food monsters dropped (favourites count double, one food is disliked), and say yes or no when a hero asks for coins to buy gear.

Floppatopia: your team is made in the character designer. Floppa starts alone, and Lynn, Jack and Rex join in the first world; you pick a class and a look for each of them. Towns have a wardrobe to restyle them any time.

Floppatopia battles: Fight, Skills, Snacks, Help a friend and Guard. Attacking a monster that wears a stolen face starts a Face Hit timing bar. Tonic Drops and the Safe Spot are free actions, team skills get a banner, and a victory screen shows XP, coins, food and level ups.

Floppatopia: towns with an inn, a snack shop, the smith, a trader who buys monster drops and villagers to talk to; story scenes when you arrive in a world, before each boss and when the faces fly home; music and sounds; each world has its own look.

Floppa Odyssey is now a full game: Floppa Palace is the hub, with shrimp doors (1, 3, 8, 12, 20, 30, 50 and 70 shrimp), a key door, a garden cannon and secrets on the roof and at the bottom of the lake.

Floppa Odyssey: three painting levels, Bramble Hill Fort, Sunshell Bay and Croaker Swamp, each with six goals that change the level, eight red coins and 100 coins. Behind the 12 door, Sir Bonkus guards the basement key.

Floppa Odyssey: new moves: triple jump, ledge grabs with shimmying and climbing, the cap throw and cap bounce, taking over frogs for huge jumps, and a splash pack in the water levels. You play as your own character from the designer.

Floppa Odyssey: 13 more levels are playable as early test layouts, the game saves to a file in the game folder, and Esc opens a pause menu.

Both modes start from the Options menu or the pause menu without the console, keep the island's level bar and tool wheel hidden, and go cleanly back to the main menu.

FloppaKart: boat mode, Floppa Falls and a winter Saltwind

Your kart turns into a boat on the water, a long one-way river track, Saltwind Speedway rebuilt as a winter coast, and polish on every track.

Boat mode: drive onto the water and your vehicle turns into a boat. The wheels fold up, a propeller comes out, it bobs on the waves and leaves a wake. Full speed on water, and the CPU racers do it too.

New track: Floppa Falls, a long one-way river run in three sections. Leave the stilt village down the slipway, race the jungle rapids (the current pushes you, trick off the waves), glide off the great falls into a lagoon with ruins, shoot the canyon rapids, cruise the canal through a harbour town and cross the bay to the beach finish.

Saltwind Speedway rebuilt as a winter coast: a bigger lap with a winter market at the start, the cliff road round the lighthouse, an avalanche gallery, icy salt pans beside the flats, the salt works, a fishing village, the breakwater, the glide onto the pier and a frozen canal through the old town. Real ice: you slide.

Frostpeak Pass: the SECTION 3 banner no longer hangs behind the BIG JUMP gate, the snow has shading, poles and signs, the tunnel is lit properly, and the giant snowballs now roll on the ground (they used to float above it and hardly ever hit anyone).

Magma Keep: stone-block castle walls, forge-press crushers with hazard bands and proper control panels. Mudslide Stadium: stands full of fans and dirt berms along the track.

Steep rock faces on all the new tracks show rock layers instead of vertical smears, and spray, mist and sparks are soft round particles.

Shrimp Track: the sand traps have natural edges and the jump ramps are wooden decks. Loading it no longer prints a pile of physics errors.

Fixes: a kicker on Saltwind launched you into a cabin, a chairlift tower stood on the Frostpeak road, the camera passed through bridges and strings of lights, and item boxes vanished over water.

Frostpeak Pass becomes a one-way mountain pass, three tracks rebuilt, drivable off-road, rails and wall rides, two items from any box and two new vehicles.

Frostpeak Pass is now a one-way mountain pass in three sections, with no laps: from the ski resort through a rock tunnel, past snowboarders and over a ski jump down to the valley.

Off-road like in the big kart games: snow, dirt, gravel, salt and grass beside the road are drivable. They slow you down, but they hide shortcuts.

New moves: charge jump (hold drift without steering, then let go), grind rails and wall rides, plus kicker ramps for tricks.

Magma Keep rebuilt: a castle in a lava lake with a route over the tower, crushers with a steel bar to grind above them, a lava pit, laser gates and a lava bridge with fire bars and geysers. The ground no longer pokes through the road.

Lava now burns you instead of splashing like water.

Mudslide Stadium rebuilt: the finish line is no longer under the bridge. Kicker ramps, a hairpin rail, a wall to ride round the bumps, mud geysers and rough ground everywhere off the road.

Saltwind Speedway rebuilt: salt flats with salt pans and kicker ramps, a ride along the sea wall, a glide onto the pier and a drive on the water through the canal of an old harbour town.

Two items from normal item boxes: grab a box while you already hold an item and the new one goes into your second slot. The single item box got the same crystal look as the double one.

New vehicles: the Floppa Bike and the Shrimp Quad (the quad barely slows down off-road). The karts got new models, wheels and animations.

The Shrimp Cup tracks look better: new skies, more detailed roads and lots of new scenery.

Every track has a version number now: when a track is rebuilt, its old Time Trial records and ghosts are cleared.

Smoother cutscenes: the track flyover fades into the race start, and the finish camera keeps circling instead of cutting off.
