🌟 Floppa Odyssey

A 3D platformer in its own world and one of Floppaland's five game modes. Princess Sogga's palace has gone dark: Bingus hid every Golden Shrimp inside the palace's magic paintings. Jump into the paintings, win the shrimp back and open the palace again, one door at a time.

Floppa Palace from above: a sandstone palace with red tower roofs on a moat island, round bushes and trees along the path, the garden with a fountain and soft clouds in the sky

The story

Princess Sogga invited everyone to the Golden Shrimp Festival at her palace. But Bingus got there first: he scooped up every Golden Shrimp that lit the palace, hid them inside the magic paintings and locked the doors behind them. Each shrimp you bring back opens more of the palace, until the way up the keep to Bingus is open.

Floppa Palace

The palace stands in the middle of the Floppa Kingdom: a walled island with a harbour, a royal road, guards and townsfolk. Inside, the palace opens up bit by bit. Every door shows how many shrimp it needs, so you always know your next goal. Later, the warp pipe in the basement will lead to whole new hub worlds.

Floppa climbs the white palace steps between glowing lanterns and potted topiary; the big front doors stand open onto a foyer with a red carpet, framed paintings and wood panelling
Walk right in: the front doors swing open and the foyer leads on into the lobby.
The palace lobby: a patterned red carpet with gold edges over a checkered marble floor, wood panelling with a gold rail, wall lamps, a banner, potted plants, a stone-framed door marked 1, and Hazel the Hint Keeper near Floppa
The lobby. Hazel the Hint Keeper tells you which door is next, and the numbers on the doors are how many shrimp they need.
The palace island from above: the palace with its keep, the village, the hedge maze and topiary garden, the town wall with its gatehouse, the harbour and the lighthouse
The Floppa Kingdom from above: the town wall and gatehouse, Floppa Harbour with its lighthouse, and the palace with its keep.

How it moves

Classic 3D platformer moves are always there. The special tools only appear in the levels built around them.

🦘

Always with you

Triple jump, long jump, ground pound, dive, wall kicks, ledge grabs with shimmying and climbing, and swimming.

🧒

Cap throw

Throw your cap to hit things, bounce off it in mid-air, or take over a creature: a frog for a huge charged jump, a puffbat to glide across wide gaps, or a heavy rumblerock that smashes cracked ice and walks along the bottom of lakes.

πŸ’¦

Splash pack

A water backpack for the water levels: hover for a moment and spray away Bingus's goo.

Floppa with a water backpack on a beach towel under a red umbrella in Sunshell Bay, a grumbler in the shade and a smiling orange crab holding a golden shrimp on its back, with a lighthouse, a pier and coins
Sunshell Bay: a crab has run off with a shrimp. Bonk it to make it let go.

Friendly, never cruel

πŸ’Ύ

Saves as you go

Every shrimp, coin record and opened door is saved to a file in the game folder.

🚩

No game over

Falling off costs 10 coins and puts you back on safe ground, and fainting just sends you back to the start of the level.

πŸ•΅οΈ
