V0.9994 #4: Tombstones, boss trophies and a new Sunshell Bay

The main game gets tombstones that keep your dropped coins, a trophy for every boss, decoration blueprints and softer lighting. Sunshell Bay gets real cliffs, land around it and a world edge, and the menus speak your language.

Floppaland (main game)

  • Tombstones: when you die you drop 10% of your coins into a tombstone where you fell. Over water it moves to the nearest dry ground. Die at the same spot again and the coins stack. Walk up and press Interact to take them all back.
  • Boss trophies: the Dune Tyrant, Frost Warden, Storm Warden and Granite Titan each drop their own trophy to place in your home or village. Always on your first win, after that sometimes (more often during a Blood Eclipse).
  • Decorations now come from blueprints: the Tinkerer sells a few each day (chairs, tables, lamps, planters, displays and more). Tools and weapons never need blueprints, and the old tool blueprints are gone from his shop.
  • Iron Bladecraft now does something: Iron, Gold and Blackstone swords deal +10% damage.
  • The Town Rating says clearly that 1.5 stars is the top in Early Access, with more stars in a future update.
  • Softer, warmer daylight with more depth, closer to Floppa Odyssey's look, and a gentle glow on bright things (off in Performance Mode).

Floppa Odyssey

  • Sunshell Bay: sculpted sandstone cliffs, green land with beaches and islands all around, sailboats out at sea, walls in the cliff arches and no more grass on the sand.
  • Every level has a world edge you can see, which can't be wall-jumped. Bouncy Bluffs no longer respawns you outside the level.
  • Ring courses: the next ring is gold, rings you pass grow and fade out. The raft race rings only appear during the race, Skipper Wren asks before you start, and replays give a coin for every ring.
  • Wind and water columns have a new look, gravity pauses during shrimp cutscenes, and flowers no longer bring back a shrimp you already have.
  • Sir Bonkus waits until you arrive and his fight resets if you fall. Tumble Blocks: the dominoes keep falling after a win, and the grey box is gone.
  • Single-goal levels ask before you jump in, the speedrun timer stays on top, and the end of a run returns you to the title.
  • New setting: Outline Collectables & Enemies, so shrimp, coins and enemies are easy to spot. Retro Mode already outlines some of them.
  • Better palm trees in Odyssey, Floppaparty and Floppatopia.

Menus and settings

  • The main menu, the welcome window and the menus of every game mode are translated into all 20 languages, and so are Floppa Odyssey's menus, moves and cheers.
  • Right-click a game mode on the home screen to see how far along it is.
  • Button text that is too long now shrinks to fit.
  • V-Sync is now a simple on/off switch.
  • In fullscreen the resolution is locked to your monitor's native resolution (Godot only lets you change it in Windowed mode).
  • No more lag spike when a cheer pops up.
