Story

Why the palace went dark, how Floppa Palace opens up door by door, and how the magic paintings work.

Floppa Palace from above: a sandstone palace with red tower roofs on a moat island, round bushes and trees along the path, the garden with a fountain and soft clouds in the sky

The story

Princess Sogga invited everyone to the Golden Shrimp Festival at her palace. But Bingus got there first: he scooped up every Golden Shrimp that lit the palace, hid them inside the magic paintings and locked the doors behind them. Each shrimp you bring back opens more of the palace, until the way up the keep to Bingus is open.

Floppa Palace

The palace stands in the middle of the Floppa Kingdom: a walled island with a harbour, a royal road, guards and townsfolk. Inside, the palace opens up bit by bit. Every door shows how many shrimp it needs, so you always know your next goal. Later, the warp pipe in the basement will lead to whole new hub worlds.

Floppa climbs the white palace steps between glowing lanterns and potted topiary; the big front doors stand open onto a foyer with a red carpet, framed paintings and wood panelling
Walk right in: the front doors swing open and the foyer leads on into the lobby.
The palace lobby: a patterned red carpet with gold edges over a checkered marble floor, wood panelling with a gold rail, wall lamps, a banner, potted plants, a stone-framed door marked 1, and Hazel the Hint Keeper near Floppa
